In case you didn’t know, Kendrick Lamar has an album dropping April 7. In order to get you in that mood and ready to dissect, digest, and debate whatever he has in store for us.

Every day this week, we’ll have at least one article a day devoted to King Kendrick, examining his past, present, future, and his impact. We’ll examine trends, his trajectory, and even get a little personal. Why wait until artists are dead to celebrate them?

So why do this? Kendrick is one of a few names in hip-hop who commands attention whenever they do anything and with “The Heart Part 4,” he put the game on pause. Will the album be a continuation of To Pimp A Butterfly or a step in a completely new direction? Or maybe it’ll find him looking to the past and do something more in the vein of Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City. As I write this, there isn’t even a title for the album announced but here we are, patiently waiting with bated breath. That’s the power he has right now and its a power so few rappers have had. We’re debating the album before it even drops, each of us telling him what we want the album to be. Exciting times, right?

To paraphrase Stan Lee, stay tuned true believers!
