Doeman — “Life After Death”

When running back Doeman’s new Brown Soul album, there were various choices I could’ve went with for this column. However, I couldn’t help but keep coming back to “Life After Death.” The raw emotion surrounding the passing of a close one comes across like a gut punch and makes the haunting hook that much more pressing. Stream this gem and more via Doe’s well-rounded Brown Soul album in full here.

Pink Siifu — “Back’!”

Much to the delight of many, Pink Siifu recently dropped his new GUMBO! album. The Alabama rapper is delivering sounds that are often brash, but sometimes, they’re relatively peaceful block beaters like “Back’!” that allow Pink to flex his arsenal of flows and deliver one hell of a driving jam. Stream this top shelf joint and more via a full serving of GUMBO! here.

Young Roc Feat. G.T. — “Showing You The Way”

A city’s rap scene really starts to shine when MCs begin to build with cats outside their circle. That’s when the opportunity really starts to spiderweb and dope collab tracks start to pop. That seems to be the case with “Showing You The Way” from Young Roc and G.T., two Detroit rappers who link up for the first time here and deliver a timely, wavy banger that will resonate well beyond the Motor City.

Earlly Mac x Sango — “MearlGo 8 (Flint, MI)”

Whenever Earlly Mac and Sango merge as MearlGo, the fans win. “Flint, MI” is their latest link and the result is another trip to chuuch from Earll, whose strong-willed approach always sounds extra on point over Sango’s stripped-down soul. Stream below and soak up some game stat.

Marlon Craft — “Oh Lord” Video

Bully bars are making a massive comeback in 2021, so Marlon Craft’s timing couldn’t be better. “Oh Lord” is the latest single from the Manhattan spitter’s Homecourt Advantage Vol 1 project and is a big, bold microcosm of Craft’s whole approach. If you don’t fuck with it, fuck you, type raps. Stream the tape in full here and go harder immediately.

Yumz Awkword — “Trust Funds” Video (Prod By Sbvce)

Bay Area rap continues to demand attention and Yumz Awkword is the latest MC worth your ears. “Trust Funds” is Sbvce-produced knocker that carries big bold energy and immediately takes over any function on site.

JBrisko — “Coincidental”

Short and sweet, catchy and ready for replay. That’s the JBrisko formula and “Coincidental” delivers exactly that. This new single from the Tampa rapper is a bit more introspective than previous releases, but equally on point.

Solemn Brigham — “Nothing Left”

Solemn Brigham’s output has been quite consistent and he’s always open with strong views. So, the warn out concept on “Nothing Left” is appropriate in various regards. Regardless, the Mello Music member delivers a zesty delivery on this single-ready stand-out from his new South Sinner Street album, which is extremely on point across the board. Stream the high-end LP in full here.

UFO Fev X Red Inf — “Cash Out”

UFO Fev has been in his bag lately, dropping back to back top notch albums in recent months. Fresh off his Enigma Of Dali co-release with Vanderslice, Fev is back with The Most High, a tape with Red Inf that continues to bring the heat as summer comes to a close. The tape is full of high-end joints, but the detailed rearviews on “Cast Out” draw listeners in immediately. Stream TMH in full here.
