With music easily made and readily shared by new artists every day, there are hundreds of high quality songs that fly under the radar. Every week, @BEWARE4 scours the web to weed out the dimes from the duds and share the wealth via BEWARE’s Block, a collection of eight buzzing tracks from artists currently breaking ground in their respective genres.

TOBi — “Made Me Everything” Video

Whether he’s straight singing or dropping choppy bars, TOBi is always soulful, as evidenced throughout his exciting new video for “Made Me Everything.” The big, uplifting record offers high-energy off rip and feels like it could bring people together for the greater good if given the proper outlet.

whiterosemoxie — “Camcorder”

When the Motor City’s rising alt-trap phenom whiterosemoxie says “I know the city can’t hold us,” I believe him. Listen as Moxie goes all out once again on “Camcorder,” one of the many stand-outs on the young gun’s new grae ceilings album. Like the previously-featured “ihop,” this record is a smash waiting to happen, offering a slice of Detroit that feels so out of pocket sonically this singalong banger is borderline unfamiliar to many locals. Oh, the irony.

Steve Spiffler x Bigg Z x Marco Kane — “How We Get Down”

Move out the way, because Steve Spiffler is coming through with “How We Get Down.” Featuring potent guest verses from Bigg Z and Marco Kane, the Stockton MC’s booming new cement-cracker feels like a three-man parade coming directly down the block, socking in anyone their way directly in the face. Turn this one up and tell everyone to get the hell out the way.

IshDARR — “Terrible Towels” (Prod. By Vitamin Boy)

In case you’re new around here, IshDARR has been making cohesive projects and hit records since he was a teenager. So, of course the Milwaukee young buck’s new collaborative album with ATL producer Vitamin Boy is yet another high-end listening experience. Every track on Nausea is choice, but my personal favorite is “Terrible Towels,” a steamy player jam that finds Ish directly in his pocket, dropping introspective insights into his high-end lifestyle. Stream Nausea in full here and level up your library stat.

Mike Floss — “DTP”

The energy on Mike Floss’ “DTP” is all over the place, almost like three songs in one, which actually feels very appropriate these days. The first of the song’s three clear zones is downtrodden, disheartened and searching for an escape. Then, as soon as listeners start to feel subdued, the energy levels up to an aggressive peak, inciting swift retribution in droves, without looking in the rearview. Yet, before we can get back, the Tennessee MC brings the song home with a mellow closing cut, doing his best to help everyone find peace of mind amidst the madness.

Jharrel Jerome Feat. KEMBA — “For Real”

When everyone around is vying for the same slice of attention, how can you tell if people are “For Real” or vying for the clout? That’s the theme of Jharrel Jerome’s new debut single with KEMBA, which uses a groovy backdrop to pose the unfortunate scenario, which isn’t easily answered or avoided. Still, awareness is key and this smooth record will surely provide some needed enlightenment when posed with your next faker or phony.

Deau. X Boy — “Global”

If you’re looking for something specific to match your rap tastes, Detroit has plenty of flavors to choose from. While getting money is the theme of most 313 raps, Deau. X Boy is on the sweeter end of things, as evidenced by his new single, “Global.” The bouncy new track is carefree by design, offering playful, polished bars that rightfully aim for private jets and penthouses. Fair enough.

Taylor J — “Wishes” Video

Before 2020, I wasn’t familiar with Taylor J. However, the Minneapolis rapper has been consistent as anyone during this rollercoaster ride of a year we’ve all been on, and his melodic, personal raps have been on point the entire time. Hear TJ dive in on his super smooth single “Wishes,” and watch him give praise to all the things he’s thankful for amidst the chaos. Amen to that.
