YGTUT — “Wealth”

Fresh off a fire feature on my fave album of the year (Isaiah Rashad’s The House Is Burning), YGTUT is keeping his foot on the gas with “Wealth.” The Justice League-produced sonic stroll is the epitome of a head-nodder, with the Chattown spitter giving game to all of us looking to leverage our God-given ingenuity. Stream this cream and another fresh loosie from TUT here.

Lauryn Harris Feat. Tobacco Ryan — “Petals”

Careful what you wish for is always good advice. That’s the crux of “Petals” from Lauryn Harris, a simmering guitar-laden joint with Tobacco Ryan that feels like Dead Prez and Battlecat fused their sounds. There are so many layers of dope on this record, the repeat listens come instinctively. Stream this immediate dime and more musts from Lauryn via her Touch N Go album here.

Jayla Darden — “Exhausted My Options” (Prod. By ESTA x Sango)

Sometimes we put ourselves in a pickle and realize the hard way. “Exhausted My Options” from Jayla Darden brings a subdued R&B jam that’s ready to move in more ways than one, delivering cool confidence in the face of wasted time with people who aren’t ready to commit.

K, Le Maestro x Nápoles — “Backseat”

Decades of digging has confirmed that songs named “Backseat” typically have a good chance of being fresh. K, Le Maestro and Nápoles carry on the tradition properly with this smooth slider, delivering a sultry new body R&B banger for all those late night cruises.

Ekelle — “Slide”

If big bruiser dance beats with chin up raps are your thing, “Slide” on into this new one from Ekelle. The latest release from the rap-singer-slash-party-girl feels like someone confidently strutting into a party without an invite and definitely warrants slapper status.

Men I Trust — “Oh Dove”

The relaxation is real with “Oh Dove” from Men I Trust. This spacey, streamlined groove is like a tractor beam that pulls listeners towards the speakers, similar to the the bowling dream scene in Big Lebowski. The whole Untourable Album from MIT is excellent and worth the full spin. Stream here.

Kacy Hill — “Seasons Bloom”

With summer wrapping up shortly, “Seasons Bloom” feels quite appropriate. The sincere, gentle single from the Phoenix singer omits rays of warmth on a track that opens up like clouds, as listeners lean in along the ride. Really cool, complimentary production on this one too, offering 80s Phil Collins vibes.

Macntaj — “Pastor Houses”

There hasn’t been a Macntaj song released in recent months that hasn’t wowed me. The hot streak stays alive with “Pastor Houses,” a soulful new single that shows the heartfelt, somber side of the Seattle MC. Stream this gem and more must-listens via Mac’s new Big Bloc Meign album here.
